Facebook Feud: Go for it!

About Facebook (FB), I have a lot to say. For me I feel FB is a boon. I don’t feel lonely anymore for I can enter people’s lives without being answerable, without being judged. Also, I read a lot about people I like and I feel happy.

I can post notes, quotes, and all that I have to say, as I know people will read them. They may or may not reply, but I feel I shared what I had to say whereas I would have to call someone and tell them “I read this and did this” and the person may not be in the right mood to react or could be busy. Here the person or anyone can read when they are free.

Humans need to communicate and you don’t always get like-minded people. You find them on FB and you can say all that you like and when you read your friends’ chats, you know whom you relate to and basically all that is bottled inside can be shared and expressed.

People work on computers now and your studies are also on the computer. In India they even do puja of computers on chopda pujan day, which means worship of books, and now it’s puja of computers. So when the computer has entered our lives in such a large way, you are most of the time on the computer and so if you’re in the office you tend to be logged in on FB or Twitter or the likes.

If you have read or seen any nice article and you want to share it, FB is the easiest way. Also FB is more convenient than writing letters, posting them, and waiting for your friend to post the reply and all. FB takes a second, is easier, and time is not wasted.

It refreshes me for I can watch videos people have posted which I would have never seen. I read articles I would never have for on FB you don’t have to search for anything; it is there posted. All I have to do is read.

It’s the younger generation that’s hooked on FB for games and chats and all. Kids I feel abuse it a lot for they share every little thing by posting it on their wall. Too much is said and posted. But everything has its pros and cons. To be a part of their kids’ lives parents need to be computer savvy too.

Regarding kids I keep in touch with them as they are on FB. It’s like my 86-year-old mom learned to use the computer to keep in touch with her grand kids. She said, “I have to be like them to keep in touch.” You have to move with the times.
